 Musically mellow and lyrically intelligent, Elbow avoid the misery-guts tag of so many British guitar bands. On the follow up to their critically acclaimed, Mercury Prize-nominated debut, Asleep in the Back, the Manchester quintet enlists the London Community Gospel Choir on the dreamy “Ribcage” and the entire crowd at the 2002 Glastonbury Festival (singing “we still believe in love, so fuck you”) on the heavenly “Grace Under Pressure” (for another expletive-filled sing-along, see Travis review).
