Brenda Fassie - Greatest HitsKnown as the Madonna of the Townships, South African singer Brenda Fassie, who died last May, was blessed with passionate vocals and an indomitable spirit. She rose from humble beginnings to become one of Africa’s most beloved singing stars. This collection, a fundraiser for the Nelson Mandela Foundation, represents her recorded legacy. Included are such hits as the stirring “Black President,” her tribute to Mandela, and the heavenly “Vul’indlela,” recently voted “Song of the Decade” by the South African music industry.
